A September 2021 release by Jordan Brand, the “Shimmer” is a predominantly monochromatic pink/orange colourway that is reminiscent of the Hender Scheme x Air Jordan 4, one of the most desirable Jordan 4 releases of all time. Here, the entire shoe is dressed in a Shimmer hue, save for the laces, semi-translucent “wings,” and netting on the tongue and mid-panel. The Air Jordan 4 “Lightning 2021” is a modern re-issue of the desirable colourway of Michael Jordan’s fourth signature shoe that was originally released in August 2006. Without question one of the most sought-after non-original Air Jordan shoes ever, the first “Lightning” was released in hyper-limited quantities exclusively on Jumpman23.com (the former Jordan Brand website) alongside a "reverse" black and yellow “Thunder” Jordan 4, together creating the “Thunder & Lightning” pack. The “Lightning” was accompanied by an Air Jordan “Flight” T-shirt and the “Thunder” was paired with a varsity jacket. In 2012, Jordan Brand brought back the “Thunder,” but curiously decided against releasing the “Lightning.” 15 years after its debut, the “Lightning” returned in near true-to-original fashion. Like the OG, the modern incarnation of the “Lightning” features Tour Yellow nubuck on its upper with black mesh on the tongue and mid-panel. Grey “wings” and black eyelets contrast the yellow look. Elsewhere, white Jump man branding appears on the nylon tongue tag and a black Jump man graces the back of the shoe. The Eric Koston x Air Jordan 1 Low SB “UNC” is a special release of the Jordan 1 Low by Nike SB pro Eric Koston. The Air Jordan 4 “Thunder 2023” is the modern re-release of the popular, non-original colourway of the retro basketball shoe that debuted in 2006’s “Thunder & Lightning” collection. Released alongside the Jordan 4 “Lightning” in super limited quantities on Jordan Brand’s former Jumpman23.com website in the mid-aughts, the “Thunder” was brought back in 2012 before it received another highly anticipated release in 2023. As for its design, the black-and-yellow shoe features a black synthetic nubuck base with Tour Yellow detailing beneath the mesh on the sides and tongue. Yellow “wings” lace holders contrast the black upper. A white Jump man appears on the heel and on the tongue. Famed artist KAWS has been rather reclusive since discontinuing his streetwear brand Original Fake, only showing face for the occasional high art project or worthwhile collaboration. Jordan Brand commission him for the latter; his canvas: the Air Jordan 4. The result, magnificent. The KAWS x Air Jordan 4 features a buttery premium suede upper in smooth and heathered textures, all drenched in a tonal grey colourway. KAWS hand graphics are etched into the upper as well, along with the matching hang tag. The midsole and upper “Wings” are also wrapped in suede. Finally, a glow in the dark sole completes the look.
